An eTA is a document that allows you to travel to Canada at any time you choose. You can do so for up to 6 months. You don’t need to have an eTA to travel within Canada.

Remember that an eTA is not a guarantee of entry into Canada. At the time you arrive, you will be asked for your passport as well as other documents such the US Green Card.

What kind of travellers apply for an eTA in Canada to travel?

Non-visa-exempt foreigners must get an eTA to fly into Canada. But they don’t need it if they travel on a cruise ship or boat, by train, bus, bus, or car.

They are permanent residents of the USA. They will need to show their valid passport, Green Card and other documents.

The application for this document can be sent to citizens from certain countries, rather than a regular Visa. A visitor visa is not required if the applicant plans to travel by other means, such as boat, ferry, bus, or cruise ship.

Travelers who can’t apply electronically can get other documents, such a valid Canadian passport and a valid US passport.

Travelers not required to comply with eTA can obtain a proper ID, such as a valid US passport.
